It seems like we just celebrated the New Year and already it's February. Where does the time go? I know January was a blur for me. There have been many things to do and many things to think about. Sometimes, it seems there are just not enough hours in a day or days in a week. Do you find you're having trouble finding time to do everything you need to do? Like you run around all day long doing things, but at the end of the day haven't accomplished much? There are 168 hours in a week. Here are 7 ways to help you use those hours the more efficiently so you won't feel so frazzled.
Put it on paper. Write down what you do on a typical day and at what time. Doing this helps you see where your free blocks of time are. If you'd like to use a template, visit the Chaos County website to print a weekly schedule.
Buy a daily planner. Writing you're various appointments down in one place will help you manage your time better. Even though you might think you're memory is fantastic or that scribbling notes on scrap pieces of paper will do fine for managing your time, you'll find this system is much more efficient!
Create a daily To Do list. Put your most important tasks at the top working your way down to the least important at the bottom. Cross them off as you go. Anything left over at the end of the day can get put on the next day's list with a little bit higher priority.
Combine as many tasks as you can in one trip. If you have to go buy groceries, why not pick up your dry cleaning, stop at the bank, or gas up your car on that same outing?
If you have other people living with you, assign some tasks to them to ease some of your burden.
Prepare meals in advance and freeze them for those more hectic days.
Use technology to your advantage. Shop online. Pay bills online. Keep in touch with people through email. You can even set up email reminders for your daily tasks.
